OK, so last time I said that this time I would Tell you about the
flaming Jell-O, so I am going to do that first.
Listen: We took a trip
to the Desert for a weekend of relaxing, drinking, and vintage high
powered Rifles, and on the way through L.A. we stopped off at the
Bahooka, where I had the honor of meeting an infamous waitress by the
name of GoGo. She came highly recommended as someone who could serving
anything flaming (drinks, salad, dinner,.. Water!) and I figured that
was worth finding out. After meeting most of the wait-staff, (I was
handing out Tiki's as "tips") and downing a few rounds of drinks, some
dinner, and more drinks, I requested an audience with GoGo. I told here
that I had come all the way from Santa Cruz to see if she could really
serve anything flaming, To which she raised one eyebrow and replied
"well, I don't know about that, but I can pretty much set anything on
fire" and to prove it, quickly provided us with an impressive parfait of
blazing jell-o. So there it is. If you go to the Bahooka, ask for GoGo,
and tell her Tiki King sent ya.
So, this past weekend I was back In
L.A. again, this time for the wedding reception of one of the Bacardi
Skate Pirates. This was the first time the B.S.P have all been united
since we met to dig up the Treasure, so there was a fair amount of
drinking involved. But then again, anytime the Pirates meet, there is a
fair (or unfair) amount of drinking involved. We arrived Friday evening
at the four story "Normandy Castle" home of fellow Pirate Charles in the
Hollywood hills. we started the evening with Armenian food and shots of
aquavit, and later found ourselves with a bottle of Rum, picking out
"dueling Banjos" on Piano and Ukulele, and then with Ukulele and Violin.
If you can't imagine that it could sound good, then your imagination is
working correctly. The mornings hangover was banished by several cups
of coffee followed by some amazing Brie crepes and a side of 50,000
scoville unit spicy potatoes. The day was spent at the reception,
toasting, listening to some amazing musicians, and traveling between the
Beer tubs and Rum bottles, and by midnight we were back at Charles
place having more fun with fire, drinking Absinthe while he whipped up
an impromptu lemon cognac souffle as a midnight snack.
It doesn't get much better than that.
